Exploring Kwazulu Natal
If you like the outdoors, you'll love exploring Kwazulu Natal. You
can go on safari in the morning, go snorkelling in the Indian Ocean in the afternoon, then relax and
watch the hippos and crocodiles basking in the sleepy waters of the St. Lucia Estuary - all in one
day!
Hiking in the Drakensberg Mountains
Hiking in the Drakensberg is an unforgettable experience. The Drakensberg mountains are only 2-3
hours away from Durban. The balmy humid weather of Durban is left behind as you begin to
breath the clean fresh mountain air in the foothills of the Drakensberg Escarpment. The entire
border between Lesotho and Kwazulu Natal has been preserved as one continuous nature reserve
formally known now as the uKhlhlamba Drakensberg Park.
Oh, and I mustn't forget Durban - and neither should you. Give yourself a
few days to take in the Beachfront scene. You can also tag along side the guys at The Sharks Board
who check the shark nets every morning. And then of course there's the Sharks Board itself in Umhlanga Rocks (Sounds like "Mmm
Shlanga" but without the "S".) |
