Ladybrand
Ladybrand is sheltered in the rocky sandstone niche of the high ridge known as the Platberg. The town has many well-preserved sandstone buildings, many of which have recently been restored as guesthouses. The district has probably the greatest concentration of rock art in the world and many fossil finds have been done, the most recent being the only example of fossilized dinosaur footprints
in South Africa.

The natural beauty of the area, with mountains, deep ravines, clear streams, the Caledon and always on the horizon the Maluti Mountains is difficult to surpass. There are bridle trails, hiking trails and hiking trails for the more and hiking trails for the more energetic, as well as an 18-hole golf course. Ladybrand offers a number of restaurants specializing in Chinese, French, Italian and South African cuisine and many a friendly guesthouse. With the Lesotho Border only 7 kilometres away, Ladybrand is the ideal stop-over.
