General Description


Prospect Cottage is a charming, spacious, comfortably furnished three bedroom home suitable for up to 6 people. We have been operating for 11 successful years and offer excellent value for your money ! It is also an ideal venue for honeymooners as they would have space and the privacy of the entire house and garden to themselves. A bottle of bubbly welcomes you to Paradise!

Sip drinks on the elevated wooden deck with panoramic views of the lagoon and the 'Knysna Heads' or enjoy the view from the lounge/dining room and bedrooms.

Relish the tranquil country lifestyle of Knysna with easy access to the Garden Route and Klein Karoo.

Ideally situated, a three minute walk to central Knysna and the lagoon, yet off the busy Main Road. Off street parking available.

Easy access to boating and water sport facilities, restaurants, shops, and a short stroll from the Knysna Waterfront Complex.

Fully furnished for up to six people.

Lounge/dining room with colour TV and full DSTV installation and a VCR to watch videos. We have a small library of videos.

Master bedroom carpeted with queen size bed and built in cupboards. Shower and toilet en-suite. Built in safe for valuables. Fan for summer. Wall heater. Hair dryer and toiletries available.

Second bedroom, carpeted with double bed and built in cupboards and dressing table. Wall heater for the winter. Fan for summer . The 2nd bedroom overlooks the lagoon.

Third bedroom, carpeted with two single beds and cupboards. It also overlooks the lagoon and the railway bridge.

Full family bathroom, with bath, separate shower, basin and toilet. Toiletries supplied.

Spacious kitchen with stove, oven, microwave oven. Fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, crockery, cutlery, etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. There are always a selection of teas, biscuits, juice, Hot chocolate and filter coffee in the cupboards for your use. Condiments, dish washing liquid etc are provided courtesy of Prospect Cottage.

Wooden deck furnished with outdoor furniture.

Linen, bedding [duvets] and bathroom and kitchen towels provided. Please be so kind as to bring your own beach towels.

We have 2 Infants cots and bedding available suitable for up to 18 months of age.

The house has burglar bars and an alarm for added safety as well as armed response.

Paved outdoor patio with table and benches and built in braai (barbeque) facilities, plus grid and tongs. There is also a potjie pot.

Small garden with wonderful bird life.
Minimum 2-night stay policy. We do not accept one night bookings.

You will enjoy your stay at Prospect Cottage. This is budget accommodation at its very best !

Services / Facilities
Self Catering. Tea, filter coffee, juice, hot chocolate, biscuits and fruit are supplied. Also a free bottle of wine and a decanter of port/sherry to add to your sun downers on the deck!  
Rates in low season are FROM R600 per couple and R100 per person thereafter.This is for the entire house. High season rates are R650 per couple and R200 per additional guest for the entire house.PEAK SEASON RATES ARE R1500 for the entire house irrespective of the number of guests. The house is always rented out as an entire unit. Private for your use only. MAXIMUM OF 6 GUESTS INCLUDING CHILDREN/BABIES.
Directions to Get There :
From Cape Town
Driving on the N2 cross the White Bridge, drive along the edge of the lagoon until the third set of traffic lights.
Continue along the Main Road past the Total Garage and take the next street left.
This is Short Street.
Then take the second road to the left which is Agnar Street and is a cul-de-sac.
Prospect Cottage is No. 23, on the left hand side of the road.

From Port Elizabeth
Drive straight through the village and after the BP Garage take the second street right (Short Street).
Then the second street left, Agnar St and the house is No 23.
